Swimming in Spruce Creek

  • Spruce Creek Bond Road and Crockett Neck Road Kittery Point, Maine (map)

High Tide: 7:37 AM | Average Water Temperature: 63°F

The sun warms the sand flats at low tide, which can make for a warmer swim, but nothing is guaranteed.

Join us for an age-old Brewster tradition called “sluicing.” It basically involves swimming through a tunnel that has a strong current at certain points during the tide. The water will shoot you out at the other side. Waterproof footwear is highly recommended. Children welcome.
